No matter what age you are, straightening your teeth can be life changing. Straighter teeth are easier to clean than crooked ones and gums fit more tightly around straight teeth. And of course, there’s the confidence boost that comes with a beautiful smile.
Invisalign® treatment uses a series of custom-made, virtually invisible aligners, that you change every two weeks for a new set. Each aligner is individually made to fit you perfectly ensuring maximum comfort. It’s the perfect orthodontic choice for modern life.
This occurs when there is not enough room in the upper and lower jaws to fit all your growing teeth, which can then become misaligned or crooked. It’s hard to effectively clean misaligned teeth so problems of gum disease and tooth decay are more common with crowded teeth.
This happens when the upper jaw abnormally overlap the lower jaw. An overbite can cause wearing of teeth on lower jaw and joint problems.
Insufficient growth of the upper jaw or missing upper teeth can cause the lower jaw to protrude and give rise to an underbite. This hinders the normal functioning of the front teeth and can cause jaw pain.
When one or more teeth from the upper jaw, bite on the interior of the lower set of teeth, it’s referred to as a crossbite. This happens when both upper and lower jaws are misaligned. It can cause your teeth to chip and wear down.
Gaps in between teeth can occur due to abnormal jawbone growth or when, due to lack of teeth, neighbouring teeth shift from their respective positions into the extra space. Gapped teeth can give rise to gum problems and periodontal disease.
An open bite occurs when some teeth on the upper and lower jaws are unable to meet each other. Genetics, poor chewing habits and excessive sucking on thumbs can cause an open bite.
You generally like your smile – but you really want to love it and you know it could look better. Maybe you have a special event coming up, or you want to increase your confidence at work or at school. Small fixes can make a big difference.
First call us on 01234 988498 to book your free consultation. At this appointment, your Dentist will examine your teeth and discuss Invisalign treatment. They will show you what the aligners look like and take a scan of your teeth to show you what the teeth could look like after treatment.
If you are happy to go ahead, your Dentist will take photos and an x-ray, and send the scan and photos to Invisalign. Because we have a scanner, the turnaround is very quick and Invisalign will send us the final simulationin 2-3 days.
We will review the simulation together to make sure you are happy with the proposed results and then order the aligners.
The aligners will be ready to be fitted 2 weeks afterwards and you’re ready to go!
An added bonus is that the clear aligners used in Invisalign are very similar to home whitening trays. Many patients have found this to be a good opportunity to whiten their teeth, not only further enhancing the benefits of orthodontic treatment but also reducing the cost of the treatments separately.
Whatever your requirements we are here to help you make an informed decision.
